SmartVision 6.2: AI Video Surveillance Update with Event and Archive Optimization

The new version of SmartVision 6.2 has been released. This update improves work with a large number of events, adds selective archive cleanup, fixes interface translations, and resolves reported bugs.
One of the main changes is related to opening events and quick notifications. On systems with many stored records, these forms may open more slowly because of the large amount of data. In SmartVision 6.2, their performance has been optimized, so viewing events and notifications should be faster and more convenient.
A new option has also been added to delete recordings for a selected period by individual cameras. Now it is not necessary to clear the entire archive. You can select the required cameras, specify the dates, and delete only those recordings. This helps free up space on the local disk, especially when some cameras generate a large video archive.
In version 6.2, interface translations for different languages have been corrected and expanded. Some strings were updated, missing localization elements were added, and detected inaccuracies were fixed.
In addition, this update fixes bugs found during the use and testing of the program.
SmartVision supports AI video analytics: person detection, vehicle detection, animal detection, face recognition, license plate recognition, and other video stream analysis functions. Starting with version 5.1, the program can automatically use the GPU for video analytics tasks if a suitable graphics card is available and the required environment is configured.
Using the GPU is important for processing speed. When recognition is performed on the CPU, analysis of a single frame usually takes from 150 ms to 1 second. The exact time depends on the computer’s hardware, the analysis model being used, and the current CPU load from other tasks. If several cameras are connected, the CPU load increases quickly.
The GPU performs such calculations faster because it is better suited for parallel processing of many similar operations. As a result, the system can process more frames per second and respond faster to events in the video stream.
What’s changed in SmartVision 6.2:
• faster opening of event and quick notification forms when working with a large number of records;
• selective deletion of recordings by period and selected cameras;
• corrected and expanded translations for different interface languages;
• fixes for reported bugs.
